Maintenance Checklist for an Anand Organics Compost Screening Machine
Most screening equipment carries a long service schedule. These machines do not, because the design removes the usual failure points rather than asking you to manage them. There are two jobs.
Job one: clean the grinder
The grinder does the hard work — breaking moist compost chunks into sievable pieces before they reach the mesh — so material builds up on it over a run. Clean it at the end of the day's work. A clean grinder keeps output consistent and stops residue hardening on the blades.
Job two: grease the bearings every quarter
Bearings need greasing once a quarter. That is the entire scheduled servicing requirement. Both jobs are shown step by step in the video below, so an operator can learn the routine without a technician on site.

What you do not have to manage
Two things that normally cause damage are handled by the machine itself. Every grinder carries an automated spring-loaded exit system, so small stones and brick fragments are ejected instead of being forced through the blades — they neither chip the blades nor overload the motor. And because each mesh sits at a precise angle with two wipers pushing material back across it, the screen does not pack up the way an ordinary flat bed or a rotating drum does on moist material.
Sensible operating habits
- Feed at a steady rate rather than surging the hopper.
- Look and listen at start-up — an unusual noise is worth investigating before a full run, not after.
- Keep the machine under cover when not in use.
- Keep the area around the outlet clear so finished compost does not back up under the deck.
